Harry Potter
At a year old, harry was attacked by Lord
Voldemort, who had planned to take over the
world.Both his parents were killed,but in her final
act, his mother protected him, and Harry survived,
although with a lightning bolt-shaped scar on his
forehead.
Harry moved to the Dursleys, his non-wizard
(Muggle) relatives, who hating magic, told him that
his parents had died in a car crash, and made him
live under the stairs at their house. Until, that
is, the day he turned eleven, when he was told via
an angry Rubeus Hagrid, that
he was a wizard, and he would attend the Hogwarts
Schol of Witchcaft and Wizardry.
During his next few years at Hogwarts, Harry
encountered many possible threats to his life.

Ron Weasly
Harry's best friend, Ron
and Harry met on the platform waiting for the train
to Hogwarts. It was both Harry and Ron's first
years, and, as they were both sorted into Gryfindor
House, became fast friends.
Between Harry's first and second years at Hogwarts,
Harry stayed at the Weaslys for part of the summer

Hermione Granger
Muggle-born Hermione Granger is another Gryfindor and
close friend of Harry and Ron. Obsesed with her studies, in
her third year at Hogwarts, she went so far as to use a
Time-Traveller, just so she could attend several classes at
once (sheesh!) Reportadly, her most feared thing is failing
all her tests!
Rubeus Hagrid
Hagrid first met Harry just minutes
after Voldemort's attack. He had arrived on Professer
Dumbledore's orders to pick up Harry and bring him to
him. They crossed paths again on Harry's 11th birthday when
he met up with the Dursleys and informed Harry for the first
time that he was a wizard. After taking Harry to Diagon
Alley to buy his school supplies, they met again at the
school where Hagrid worked as a groundskeeper.
After being proven innocent of a crime that happened years
before by Harry, Hagrid became Hogwarts's Care of Magical
Creatures teacher.

Albus Dumbledore
Albus Dumbledore is "one of the finest
headmasters of Hogwarts"
No easy feat, since Hogwarts is over 1,000 years
old. Also quoted as eing one of the most powerful
wizards in the land, Dumbledore is not one to
cross.

Minerva McGonagall
The Transfiguration teacher at Hogwarts, she is also the
Gryfindor teacher . Like Snape, she is strict, although she
does in no way single Harry out for punishement
Serverus Snape
Snape is the Potions teacher. He has an incredible
hatred for Harry, only because he went to Hogwarts with
James Potter, Harry's dad. For a little ractical joke, James
and some friends thought it would be funny to try to lure
Snape into the den of a werewolf. Unfortunatly, he actually
came, not what they had planned, and the elder Potter was
forced to save Snapes life. Snape is also head of Slytherin
house.
Lord Voldemort
A.k.a He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, the Dark Lord tried to
take over the world. James Potter was a powerful Wizard, and
Voldemort knew he must kill him. Potter's old friend from
school, Peter Pettigrew, revealed their hiding place to
Voldemort. He went to the Potter's and killed Harry's
parents. However, in her last act, Lily Potter, managed to
protect Harry, and the Dark Lord could not kill Harry. Some
say this was because Harry possesed greater powers than
Vldemort, others think it was beacuse he was perfectly
innocent of anything, his goodness protected him. In any
case, his lightning bolt-shaped scard still serves as a
reminder.
Draco Malfoy
Harry's archrival in Hogwarts, Draco Malfoy is in the
the supposedly bad Syltherin house. The Malfoys, with Lucius
being in with the Ministry, and having a lavish manor, are
everything Harry and his friends are not.
His two best friends, Crabbe and Goyle also act as his hit
men.
Vernon, Petunia, and Dudley
Dursley
Harry's muggle relatives; he lived with them for ten
years. Under the stairs. being in second place to their
spoiled son Dudley. Never told that he was a wizard, only
saying that he had died in a car crash. The Dursleys hate
Harry, not liking any magical people at all.
Sirius Black
Convicted mass murder Sirius Black was supposedly
Voldemort's right-hand man, and also played a crucial role
in the deaths of Lily and James Potter. In Azakaban
though, he proves that it was actually Peter Pettigrew
who killed the people, who betrayed the Potters. Sirius was
James's best friend, best man at his wedding and godfather
to Harry. As he says, succeding to prove his innocence in a
shack in Hogsmeade, "I would have died before I betrayed
Lily and James."
Fred and George Wealsly
The Weasly twins are mainly in the book for comic relief.
And boy, is it funny ("We know we're Gred and Forge")! They
are ? years older than Harry and Ron, and are beaters on the
Gryfindor Quidditch team.
Ginny Wealsy
The youngest of the Weaslys, Ginny first apeared in Chamber
of Secrets, when she opened the chamber and started
petrifying students. She idolizes Harry, and reveres him as
a God.
Percy Wealsly
The oldest of the Weaslys still in Hogwarts, Perfect Percy
was a prefect for two years before becoming Head Boy. He is
very statly, nowhere near relaxed.
Neville Longbottom
A short, fat, and slightly daft Gryfindor. Neville is pure
wizard blood, although he is probobly one of the worst
students in his year. A loyal friend to Harry, Hermione, and
Ron, he even tried to stop them from saving the sorcerer's
stone for fear of losing points.
Dean Thomas
Muggle-born Dean Thomas is another Gryfindor in Harry's
year. His best friend in Seamus
Finnigan.
Seamus Finnigan
Sandy-haired Seamus Finnigan is another Gryfindor in Harry's
year. He is good friends with Dean
Thomas.
