Dementor
A tall, robed creature who has no soul.
Dementors are horrid things, and guard the prizion
of Azakaban. Probobly the
best definithion is one given to us by Professer
Lupin : "They breed in the darkest, filthiest
places, they create decay and despair, they drain
peace, hope, happiness out of any human who comes
too close to them
Even muggles
feel their presence, though they can't see
them. Get too near a dementor and every good
feeling, every happy memory will be sucked out of
you. You'll be left with nothing but the worst
experiences of your life."
The dementors do literally suck your soul out, in
an act know as the Dementor''s Kiss.
After Sirius
Black escaped from Azakaban
and was suspected to be going to Hogwarts,
dementors were sent to guard the school.
Unfortuatly for Harry, he kept fainting whenever he
saw one; on a train, at a quidditch
match. However porfesser Lupin taught him how to
conjur up a Patronus, the
only thing that can keep a dementor away.
